Fattoria di Spoiano is a family run farm located in Barberino Tavarnelle, among the Chianti hills between the cities of Florence and Siena. The estate was bought in 1985 by swiss winemaker Jan Waspi, who restored the buildings and the surrounding vineyards to make his dream of owning a winery come true. The vineyards, mostly Sangiovese grapes, have altitudes between 250 and 370 meters a.s.l. and are cultivated respecting the organic principles. Besides wine the Waspi family also produces extravirgin olive oil, breeds Cinta Senese pigs and Dexter cows and manages the agriturismo.
