The Castle, built in the 7th Cent., owned by the Cappellini family since 1958, is the birthplace of Giovanni da Verrazzano, the navigator discoverer of New York bay. The wine-growing activity here dates back to 1170: DOCG Chianti Classico and IGT Toscana wines are produced and moreover olive oil, fine vinegars and cold cuts from the wild boars that live in the estate woods. At the center of the property (570 acres with 170 acres of vineyards, within its boundaries since 1000 years) stands the manor-house, with a stone tower and Renaissance gardens, with a panoramic views on the Greve Valley.
