Convivio

Maddalena Lotti

The Artwork: In an era marked by social fragmentation and the acceleration of daily life, Convivio serves as an invitation to slow down and rediscover togetherness as a necessary, identity-defining, and deeply human experience. The artwork reinterprets wine not only as a symbolic element of Tuscan culture, but as a physical and relational space for connection, reclaiming its ancient function as a catalyst for community, dialogue, and sharing. To sit around Convivio means to inhabit a different kind of time: a time of presence, of listening, and of reciprocity, in which the quality of life is measured by the depth of a gaze, the simplicity of a gesture, and the generous gift of shared time.

Biography: Maddalena Lotti was born in Florence and is currently a student in the three-year Sculpture program at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Her artistic research is oriented toward creating objects and spaces capable of activating new forms of relationship with, and perception of, the territory—understood as an open place for experience, connection, and shared design.
