POMONA is a 250 year old family owned winery in Castellina in Chianti, Tuscany. Six Hectares of vineyards are located in the immediate vicinity of the homestead, following the organic manure. The estate is 350 mt a.s.l. and lies in a west, easterly position We aim to cultivate our vineyards in harmony with the environment Our vineyards constitute more than 90% Sangiovese. The vines range in age from 5 years to 30 years. The trainig method is Guyot and spur-pruned cordon. All our grapes are picked by hand and collected in crapes to ensure that any rotten or unriped fruit is removed.
