Description

Castello Vicchiomaggio is a winery owned by the Matta family since 1964. The Castle is located on the top of a hill overlooking the Greve in Chianti valley and it enjoys over 1000 years of history. The winery extends for about 140 hectares of which 34 are cultivated with vineyards and the rest with olive groves and park. John Matta is personally responsible for the wine production and has been elected The Italian Wine Maker of the Year by IWSC four times (1997, 2002, 2005, 2010). Inside the Castle there are, additionally to the historic cellars, the agritourism, the restaurant and a wine shop.
