The legal services and institutional office mainly provides support and assistance to members in regard to meeting
the standards and following the bureaucratic procedures required for grape/wine production and product marketing.
It also provides members with legal consultation on specific problems. For these purposes it keeps track of standard
updating by systematically monitoring the sources of, and defining the interpretative criteria for, standards, their
possible applications and relative procedures. The work done by this office entails constant contact and exchanges
of information with standardization boards and public institutions like ministries, regions, provinces, customs
offices, the anti-fraud squad and chambers of commerce in order to correctly define procedures and provisions.
Special attention is given to assisting members applying for government aid, as well as to all the legal and procedural
aspects of financing projects set up by the Consortium itself.
The office also provides assistance to consortium bodies in dealing with controversies and judiciary problems,
interfacing with outside lawyers and experts and offering support in evaluating opinions and contract proposals.
Finally, a significant aspect of its work is handling trademark registration in Italy and in foreign countries and
monitoring their correct use in both marketing and merchandising wine.
